Roulers ecommerce website was developed for our UK-based client, online magazine publisher, specializing on online promotion of Rouleurs brand and selling products online (including but not limited with digital version of their magazine, cycling accessories, clothes, art prints and mugs). BUSINESS SITUATION This e-commerce project was migrated from Drupal into Magento + WordPress. Migration of all the content from Drupal Commerce into two different databases for these new CMSes, has been successfully completed under our dev department. So currently the website brings a unique combination of blog articles cross-linked with products (with particular product pages). SOLUTION We performed tech review for customer business needs and requirements and we have offered to consider Magento CMS for e-commerce section and Wordpress for articles publishing. Drupal to Magento and Drupal to Wordpress content migrations were the most challenging task on this project, we have faced with the task to import one database into two different databases from Wordpress and Magento CMS-es, and it was successfully completed. So the website brings a unique combination of blog articles cross-linked with products. All e-commerce power is taken from Magento and blogging options are taken from Wordpress blogging platform. As for design, we used one paid theme for Magento part and developed custom design for Wordpress blogging part. The website functionality that we have developed includes the following features: Registering and logging-in; Search engine (Shop/Editorial) as well as classification in every products category by several characters (Price, Size, Colour etc); Multicurrency. It’s possible to choose the preferred currency to display the price; Users can share their choices in social networks from product individual page as well as do it with articles and comment them in addition (logged users); Social networks API'es integrated. There is an opportunity to subscribe on print or print and digital magazine versions. Several integrations with third-party subscription services allow users to get discounts in store depending from subscriptions. Set up a project team of 5 people assuming the following roles: Project Manager; 2 Magento/Wordpress Developers; Drupal developer; Front-end Developer.
